Grand Cayman Destination Wedding Venues

A highly developed island with plenty of modern conveniences, Grand Cayman offers an abundance of places to stay, including huge luxury resorts, small and more reasonably priced hotels, private villas, condos, rental houses, and even bed and breakfasts. Several of the resorts and hotels cluster around popular Seven Mile Beach, creating opportunities for ultra-convenient weddings right on the sand. However, accommodations also lie sprinkled throughout the entire island, some in much more secluded locations, so finding a spot in your area of personal preference should not prove difficult. Take advantage of the many services offered by larger hotels and resorts for your destination wedding, including coordinators that can help you plan every tiny detail! Many hotels also offer wedding and honeymoon packages, convenient for those staying for extended lengths of time. Hotels also provide a wide range of locations to choose from, often both on the beach and throughout the property. Below, we’ve listed just a few places in convenient locations that come with excellent wedding packages to help jump-start your planning!

When the ceremony wraps up, take advantage of the honeymoon package for the perfect start to a new life! The beaches of Grand Cayman draw visitors from around the world with their classic white-sand and calm blue waters appeal – spots which invite long days sunning on the shore, swimming and wading in the shallow waters, long romantic walks, or the quintessential Grand Cayman destination wedding! An ideal spot for lovebirds and couples looking to wed, Grand Cayman beaches prove extremely convenient, accessible, and full of facilities and amenities for your special day. Book a luxury hotel near the world-renowned Seven Mile Beach, a long stretch of white sand with endless locations for the perfect ceremony. With bathrooms, restaurants, accommodations, and entertainment so close by, couples can host anything from a small and intimate ceremony to a huge blowout with all their closest family and friends!

If quieter beaches prove more to your liking, Grand Cayman contains a few beautiful locations that remain easily accessible, but draw much smaller crowds. An area such as stunning Cemetery Beach or Water Cay contains no facilities along their white-sand shores – just you, the rush of the waves, and the perfect secluded Caribbean wedding ceremony. However, with the high level of development on Grand Cayman, hotels and restaurants usually sit just a short drive away, so couples never truly encounter inconvenience when picking their location! Experience the gorgeous Caribbean views from any one of these popular Grand Cayman beach wedding sites, and enjoy a classic ceremony memorable for years to come!

Seven Mile Beach

Hold your ceremony right on one of the most famous locations in Grand Cayman – Seven Mile Beach, a long stretch of pristine white sand bordering pale blue Caribbean waters. Located on the western side of the island, this entire stretch of beach (a little over 5 miles) makes a wonderful location for sunset weddings! Along with a stunning ocean backdrop, Seven Mile Beach comes with just about every modern convenience and facility you might need at your wedding. This is perhaps one of the more touristy areas in Grand Cayman, and the entire strip of beach is lined with hotels, resorts, restaurants, and bars. Malls sit close nearby, and all areas of the beach remain easily accessible by road, bus, or hotel! An easy way to prepare for your Seven Mile Beach wedding involves simply booking one of the area hotels, and letting them do the planning for you. With a place like this, you can bring any sized wedding party and find a perfect space to accommodate it, with no worries about finding bathrooms or air-conditioning. And once you exchange vows, the reception site sits only seconds away from where the ceremony took place. Enjoy all the beauty of a Caribbean backdrop alongside all the development of Seven Mile Beach, one of the most sought-after locations on Grand Cayman!

Rum Point

Another popular location in Grand Cayman, this beach lies on the northern tip of the island known as Cayman Kai, close to the North Side. A bit more off the beaten track than Seven Mile Beach, and with fewer facilities, Rum Point can still draw quite a crowd at times (especially when the cruise ships come into shore.) The area contains a restaurant, a spot for water sports rentals, a volleyball area, and a few other touristy diversions. The beach itself appears a bit small, but Rum Point compensates with beautiful crystal-clear waters that remain calm and shallow, and baby-powder soft sand that typically contains a lot fewer tourists than Seven Mile Beach. Try planning your destination wedding for early in the morning to avoid the worst of the crowds!

Smith Cove

On the western side of Grand Cayman, couples find Smith Cove, a quiet little beach that draws visitors with its excellent snorkeling. This beach features a beautiful stretch of soft white sand, and some large rocks closer to the edge of the water great for fun wedding photographs! Convenient picnic tables and bathrooms sit back in the sand. Smith Cove typically remains much quieter than Seven Mile Beach, particularly if you arrive early for a morning wedding.

Cemetery Beach

A relatively quiet beach near the West Bay area of Grand Cayman, Cemetery Beach offers no facilities – just a wide stretch of white sand beach and views of the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea, ideal for those looking to get away from the crowds. Finding a quiet spot to yourself on this lovely shore proves relatively easy, particularly if you schedule your destination wedding for earlier in the day. You may encounter a few people coming for the excellent snorkeling, or to partake of the beautiful scenery and warm, calm waters. Enjoy the quiet sound of the waves and the Caribbean breezes, without the honking of cars or the yelling of other tourists – the appeal of this spot lies in its quiet and under-developed beauty.

Water Cay

Also located on the northern side of the island close to Rum Point, Water Cay provides a quiet and restful location with few crowds. Calm blue waters, excellent for wading and swimming, lap gently against the shaded white sand beach, inviting couples to come stroll along the shore and exchange barefoot vows. Water Cay remains easily accessible, but contains no facilities, so come prepared with whatever you might need!

Governor’s Beach

This westward-lying beach contains only a few portable bathrooms in terms of facilities, but compensates with a beautiful wide stretch of sand and the laidback, family-friendly atmosphere expected on a Caribbean shore. The nearby Governor’s House grants this location its name, and tourists flock here for the gorgeous beach views and warm, calm waters. A few restaurants sit nearby, perfect for a bite to eat or dinner after a casual, intimate ceremony. Hold a gorgeous sunset ceremony at this easily accessible location, but prepare to encounter a few other people during your time at Governor’s Beach!

For a Grand Cayman destination wedding ceremony with another level of intimacy, consider booking a Grand Cayman villa right on one of the island’s lovely beaches. Explore a number of villas in a range of styles and sizes, perfect for an intimate ceremony for 2 or for your entire family! Not only do villas offer extra privacy, they move couples away from the crowds and hassle of hotels, ideal for those who want to spend a little extra time focusing on each other. Some couples even take the extra step and choose to staff theirs with personal chefs and housekeepers, keeping excess work to a minimum during their weddings and honeymoons! Many villas feature extra amenities such as kitchens, several rooms to spread out in, private swimming pools, and more – and several rest on some of the most sought-after locations in Grand Cayman, including beautiful Seven Mile Beach. Book a Grand Cayman villa for your destination wedding, and experience a whole new, intimate side of this popular island!

Grand Old House

Constructed in 1908 as a great house, the Grand Old House saw a long and rich history before ending up as a fine dining restaurant. A family home, World War II hospital, Sunday school, and a hurricane shelter, the house saw a colorful mix of people and events until it was purchased in 1969. Carefully preserved to maintain its original appearance, Grand Old House then became a restaurant – and eventually a well-known dining and wedding location of Grand Cayman. Today the house offers seaside dining in a wonderful atmosphere, as well as space for destination wedding ceremonies and receptions. Well-known as a beautiful spot for exchanging vows, Grand Old House takes extra-special care with its couples – they even have their own wedding planner to help iron out all the details, and a choice of 3 distinct wedding packages. A “Simple Beach Ceremony” begins at $650, and includes preparation of documents, witnesses, legal fees, marriage license copies, a wedding coordinator, marriage officer, recorded music, and a signing table. Other packages include “Grand Old House Traditional Wedding” ($1,150) and “Grand Old House Exclusive Wedding” ($2,650), with each upgrade offering new conveniences and luxuries.
Conveniently located right in George Town, the restaurant provides the best of both worlds – luxury dining and comfort right next to the beautiful blue water. Enjoy the sweeping ocean views from the verandah, indulge in the delicious food, and partake of 102 years of unique Grand Cayman history at the Grand Old House!

Pedro St. James Castle (Pedro St. James National Historic Site)

Take in the rich history of Grand Cayman with a wedding in “The Birthplace of Democracy” – Pedro St. James National Historic Site, located on the southern coast of the island. One of the oldest stone structures in the Cayman Islands, Pedro St. James saw the beginning of many a momentous event, including the first elected Parliament of Grand Cayman and the proclamation that ended slavery on the island. The site survived through a series of unfortunate occurrences – multiple fires, hurricanes, and vandalism, and yet still managed to remain standing. In 1991, the government purchased and took steps to preserve this historic “castle” (actually a grand 3-story house), and keep it open to the public.

Today the elegant structure makes an ideal spot for a Grand Cayman destination wedding, with its verandahs and beautiful surrounding grounds. A nearby wedding gazebo offers yet another location for exchanging vows, and stunning ocean views rest just behind the property. Plan your destination wedding for one of the most significant places in Grand Cayman history, and enjoy a lovely ceremony at Pedro St. James National Historic Site!
